Story:
Rolling Staccato was based on a final class assignment in Two Dimensional Design (Raritan Valley Community College, Spring 2004).
Our instructor, Tracy Fox, had us 'draw sound'. The swirls are the sound of a wheeled chair on a wood floor and the staccato bits are the sound of shaking plastic measuring cups on a ring. I manipulated my scanned sound sketches with Photoshop. The final image was divided into sections, printed out on Bubble Jet Set treated fabric, machine pieced and quilted.
