We The People

Story:

This is the second quilt in a series that explores my sense that the world, and the US in particular, is on fire. We The People means all the people. The Preamble to the Constitution exhorts us to “form a more perfect Union” by establishing justice, insuring domestic tranquility, providing for the common defense, promoting the general welfare, and securing liberty for ourselves and those who come after us. Amendments to the Constitution were made to clarify laws and policies and meet the needs of the country’s changing values. Highlighted in the quilt are select amendments supporting individual rights and freedoms.
